NRSC: Walsh Likely to Lose

The National Republican Senatorial Committee sent a release today analyzing appointed Senator John Walsh's (D-MT) chances of keeping his chair. They report:

The Cook Political Report already had Montana rated as “lean R,” and now statistician and elections expert Nate Silver is predicting that John Walsh has an eye-opening 80% chance of losing his Senate seat. The noted data guru also predicted that there is a 60% chance that voters replace the Democratic Senate majority in the fall.

"John Walsh is in big trouble, and his recent campaign turmoil and shakeups reflect that," said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen in the press release. "Montana voters know that John Walsh hasn't been honest about his appointment to the Senate and is more interested in appeasing Harry Reid and Barack Obama than representing Montana. Montanans look forward to replacing John Walsh with an effective Senator who will be an advocate for the Big Sky Country in Washington."
